Application for Emergency Travel Documents (ETD)
Emergency Travel Documents are provided to Namibian citizens needing to travel urgently and whose passports are expired, damaged or lost.

AN ETD IS ISSUED FOR AN EMERGENCY ONE-WAY RETURN TO NAMIBIA ONLY AND IS ONLY VALID FOR FIVE DAYS FROM THE DATE OF ISSUE INCLUDING WEEKENDS AND PUBLIC HOLIDAYS.

Requirements for a Minor born in the UK, Northern Ireland, Ireland, Malta and Greece.

Biological parents of the Minor should make the application IN PERSON.

Non-Namibian parent MUST submit a letter of consent, a certified copy of their Birth Certificate and all other documents:

Copy of flight ticket;

Copy of the passports of parents;

Copy of the birth certificates of parents;

Copy of Namibian Identity document of parents. If either parent is not a Namibian citizen, a copy of the Namibian parent should still be provided;

Exceptions: If one of the parents is deceased, this fact must be stated. Where the consent is given by the guardian the circumstances of guardianship are to be stated.
​
If, as a result of special circumstances (e.g., the absence of a parent) it is not possible to complete the certificate, written consent in some other form (e.g., a letter from the absent parent) will be accepted.
If a parent (or guardian) withholds his/her consent or if for some sound reason such consent cannot be obtained an explanation should accompany the application. Any court order in respect of the custody of the child must be forwarded with the explanation.
Each case will be considered on its own merits.

Application for new Passports & Renewals
Applications for new passports and renewals of passports are processed to the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration in Namibia by the High Commission.
Citizens must submit the documents listed below with the application for a new Namibian passport.

PROVIDE YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS SO THAT THE HIGH COMMISSION CAN CONTACT YOU WHEN THE PASSPORT IS RECEIVED TO INFORM YOU THAT YOU CAN COLLECT YOUR PASSPORT.

It is advisable to apply at least 6 months in advance of the expiry of your passport.
Namibian National ID Card
First time Namibian National ID Card application must be obtained in Namibia.
​
To obtain a DUPLICATE Namibian National ID Card, visit the High Commission to apply.
Note that the Namibian National ID Card application forms can only be obtained and dully filled at the High Commission in London.

Application for Namibian Citizenship
Applications for new passports and renewals of passports are processed to the Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration in Namibia by the High Commission.
REQUIREMENTS FOR NAMIBIAN CITIZENSHIP FOR CHILDREN BORN TO NAMIBIAN PARENT/S ABROAD

It is mandatory that the application is made IN PERSON by at least one Namibian biological parent of the Minor.

ALL APPLICATION FORMS SHOULD BE COMPLETED IN CAPITAL LETTERS, AND IN BLACK INK.

Email address: applicants must provide a correct email address so that the High Commission can contact the applicant once the document is received from the Ministry of Home Affairs in Namibia. The email is used only for this purpose. NOTE: Once the consular section receives your document, you will receive an email to inform you that: You may collect the document in person, or you may send a self-addressed pre-paid envelope for the return of your document.

No photographs of documentation taken on a phone will be accepted by the Ministry of Home Affairs. Ensure that clear photocopies of documents are submitted with applications.
